Bent Tree Country Club

Bent Tree opened in 1975 to a William B. Lewis design and spent its early life as a fully private club. It is the course that hosted the Sarasota LPGA Classic from 1976 to 1988, which is a 13-year run of professional golf that very little else in this market can claim.

The layout plays to a par of 72 at about 6,570 yards, with later work by Ward Northrup, who redesigned the greens in 1994, and by Ron Garl. It is a shorter card than the newer courses east of I-75 and a more strategic one.

The club has moved away from being fully private in recent years and now offers flexible membership plans, which is why this site records it as semi-private rather than private. The club does not publish its membership pricing, so confirm the current arrangement directly rather than relying on an older description.
