Buffalo Creek Golf Course
Buffalo Creek is a Ron Garl design in Palmetto and one of the two courses covered by a single Manatee membership, the other being Manatee County Golf Course. The course measures 6,926 yards from the back tees with a USGA course rating of 73.6 and a slope of 129, which is a genuine test from the tips and entirely playable from further forward.
It is links-influenced and open, which in this part of Florida means wind is a real factor rather than a rumour. The practice ground runs to a multi-station driving range with chipping and putting greens alongside it.
The clubhouse and snack bar seat up to 100 guests, which makes this one of the easier public courses in Manatee County to use for an outing or a society day. Green fees are not published on the club website; call the golf shop.
