Imperial Lakewoods Golf Club
Imperial Lakewoods is a public 18-hole par-72 course in Palmetto, running to 7,010 yards from the gold tees with a rating of 73.9 and a slope of 136. From the white tees it plays 6,160 yards, so the card accommodates a wide range of players rather than punishing everyone equally.
The course covers more than 200 wooded acres of rolling terrain, with oak and maple in play through much of the round. That is unusual for this part of Manatee County, where a lot of newer golf is cut through flat former pasture.
The course changed ownership in 2016 and reopened in early 2017 after an upgrade. Several directories credit a redesign to a named architect while also misattributing an unrelated famous course to the same person, so no architect is recorded here. The Fairways at Imperial Lakewoods community sits alongside it, and has its own page.
