Key Royale Club
Key Royale is the only golf course on Anna Maria Island, which makes it one of the more consequential small clubs in this market. It is a private nine-hole par-32 executive course in Holmes Beach, about 2,017 yards, designed by Jim Cochran.
Access is the thing to be clear about before you buy on the island expecting to play. A social or golf membership is required for golf, for events and for use of the clubhouse, and memberships are offered annually and seasonally. Seasonal membership is unusual and it suits the way a lot of island property is actually owned.
The practice ground is better than nine holes would suggest, with a chipping and pitching area, two hitting cages and a large putting green, and lessons are available. The full-service restaurant and bar is open to social as well as golf members and functions as a gathering place rather than a snack stop.
If you are weighing an island purchase partly on golf, this is the whole of the island supply. Everything else means crossing a bridge.
