River Strand Golf & Country Club
River Strand is 27 holes of Arthur Hills golf in Bradenton, opened in 2006 and arranged as three nines: the Estuary, the Sanctuary and the Tributary. You can play nine, eighteen or all twenty-seven, with the eighteen rotating between the three.
Several holes take in the Manatee River and its tidal water, which is unusual here and is the reason the course reads differently from the inland Lakewood Ranch golf a few miles east. Greens are TifEagle, and the layout mixes generous fairways with water and placed bunkering.
The clubhouse runs to 39,000 square feet and carries casual and fine dining, a golf shop, a fitness centre, an aerobics room, locker rooms and a heated spa. Practice is on an aqua driving range with a short-game area and a putting green. Membership terms are not published on the club golf page and are not guessed at here.
