The Club at River Wilderness

The Club at River Wilderness in Parrish is a member-owned, semi-private club built around an 18-hole, par-72 Ted McAnlis course spanning 192 acres, and the whole property is part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System. The course plays about 7,139 yards from the back with five sets of tees.

What makes this club genuinely unusual in this market is that it publishes its numbers. A golf membership carries a one-time $2,500 fee. Full golf for ages 40 to 79 is $5,225 a year single or $6,600 family, payable monthly at $475 and $600, with a food and beverage minimum of $180 single or $350 family quarterly, or $750 and $1,500 annually. There are younger brackets too: Young Professional for 24 to 39, Graduate for 17 to 23, Cadet for 10 to 16, and a trail fee category.

Almost no private club in Sarasota or Manatee puts those figures on a public page, which means a buyer comparing clubs is usually comparing one real number against several rumours. Here you can do the arithmetic before you tour. Treat the figures as the state of the published schedule on the date below and confirm them with the club, because fees change without notice.

River Wilderness is a community as well as a club. The recorded sale prices, build years and the share of owners who claim a homestead exemption live on the community page rather than here. Note also that River Wilderness and River Wind are different places in Parrish, and they get confused constantly.
