Village Green Golf Club
Village Green is an executive 18 at a par of 58, built on an orange grove in the 1960s and still family owned and operated. It sits inside the city rather than out among the newer communities, which makes it one of the most convenient places to play in Sarasota.
Three PGA professionals are on staff, and the golf shop does club fitting and club repair rather than just selling gloves. That is unusual at this size of course and it is the reason a lot of local players keep coming back.
The league programme is genuinely active, with a Sunday quota game, a Monday mixed league and a Tuesday night ladies league among others. The clubhouse has a full bar and a daily lunch menu. Rates are not published on the website; call for current ones.
