Robinson Preserve
Bradenton, Manatee County
A large restored coastal preserve in west Bradenton with trails, kayak launches, and an observation tower.
Robinson is 705 acres of northwest Bradenton that used to be farmland and is now coastal wetland again: mangrove, tidal marsh and restored habitat, with more than twenty miles of trail and paddling route through it.
The 53-foot tower is the landmark, giving a clear view across to Tampa Bay. The expansion added the NEST, the Mosaic Center for Nature, Exploration, Science and Technology, which runs around 500 education programmes a year and carries a crow’s-nest lookout with a 360-degree view, plus a rubberised pedestrian-only trail, more kayak launches and picnic areas. The county rents kayak storage on site.
This is the single strongest argument for northwest Bradenton as a place to live, and it is the kind of amenity that does not show up in a listing. If you are weighing that side of the county, go and walk it before you decide.
