Lakewood Ranch's New Entertainment District: Life Time, SkyTrack, Waterside & More
An 86,000 sq ft Life Time athletic club, indoor go-kart racing, a new gastropub at Waterside Place, and a $44 million aquatics center — Lakewood Ranch is building out its lifestyle infrastructure fast. Here's what's confirmed.
Lakewood Ranch has been America's top-selling master-planned community for years running, and the lifestyle infrastructure is finally catching up to the residential growth. A new entertainment district, an 86,000 sq ft athletic country club, and continued Waterside Place expansion are all coming online in 2026. Here's the confirmed timeline.
Life Time: 86,000 sq ft athletic country club — October 2026
Life Time Lakewood Ranch opens in October 2026 at 5000 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard North. This isn't a gym — it's an 86,000 sq ft athletic country club with 14 pickleball courts (three indoors with pickleball lounges and a bistro), a leisure pool with waterslides, two lap pools, a full fitness studio, and cardio and strength training floors.
The waitlist opens in July 2026. For residents of Savanna, Country Club East, The Isles, and the central Ranch villages, this fills a gap that's existed since the community started — a serious fitness and social facility that doesn't require a golf membership.
The entertainment district is taking shape
On the Sarasota County side of Lakewood Ranch, a new entertainment district is coming together on Professional Parkway:
- Urban Air Adventure Park — already open since September 2025, with trampolines, slides, and climbing walls
- SkyTrack Family Entertainment Center — broke ground March 2026, featuring a three-story indoor electric kart racing track
- Backyard Social — under construction south of Urban Air, with a full bar, food trucks, games, and live music
Athletics & Aquatics Center — September 2026
Manatee County's $44.2 million Athletics and Aquatics Center is slated to open September 2, 2026. The facility includes two pools and 24 pickleball courts — a significant public amenity for Ranch residents who don't belong to a private club. This is being built alongside a new Manatee County Sheriff's Office substation and the second-floor buildout of the Lakewood Ranch Library.
Waterside Place keeps expanding
Lakewood Ranch's walkable dining and shopping destination at Waterside Place now has over 30 retailers and restaurants, and it's still adding:
- Allswell — a gastropub from NYC's Malt House owners, opened July 2025
- Treehouse Coffee & Wine — a cafe and wine bar planned for the Lakefront Drive building
- Osteria 500, Agave Bandido, and Deep Lagoon Seafood remain anchors
What this means if you're considering the Ranch
The knock on Lakewood Ranch for years was "great homes, but what do you do at night?" That era is ending. Between the entertainment district, Waterside Place, Life Time, UTC (15 minutes west), and the new aquatics center, the lifestyle infrastructure is approaching critical mass.
For buyers relocating from metros like Chicago, New York, or DC, this is the gap that had to close before Lakewood Ranch could compete on lifestyle, not just housing. It's closing fast.
