Pickleball & Active Lifestyle Communities FAQ
Which Southwest Florida community has the most pickleball courts?+
Del Webb Catalina at Lakewood Ranch leads with twelve pickleball courts, eight of them covered. Woodland Preserve in Parrish has eight courts. Most resort-style communities in the area have at least two to four dedicated courts.
Do I have to be 55+ to live in a community with pickleball?+
No. While many 55+ communities emphasize pickleball, plenty of all-ages communities have dedicated courts too — including Star Farms, Saddlestone, Firethorn, Salt Meadows, and Trevesta. Active-lifestyle amenities are standard across most new Southwest Florida communities regardless of age restrictions.
What other active-lifestyle amenities do these communities offer?+
Beyond pickleball, expect resort-style pools, fitness centers, bocce courts, tennis, walking and biking trails, and many have full-time lifestyle directors who organize social events, fitness classes, and community outings. Some communities like Calusa Country Club and Sarasota National also offer golf.
